If a company's culture reflect that of it's founders personality focusing on founders who are "good" people goes a long way towards ensuring the companies YC funds act a certain way. Whether that way is good or not is up for debate but from pure anecdotal evidence I'd argue that YC startups tend to comport themselves better than others.
