For a long time it seemed like it was just a few bad quarters from selling to IBM. It seems like the "It" companies were the ones that owned their markets. In defense of your positions, in the early 90s, many of the most talented engineers that I knew flocked to Apple. They left later in the decade, and then returned post-bubble.
