I watched the first half of War Games (1983) with my 6 and 8 year old boys tonight, and they were both totally into it. The movie holds up incredibly well, especially the back-and-forth of Matthew Broderick and Ally Sheedy choosing targets to attack as the officers in NORAD are running around panicked. I can perhaps imagine showing Aliens to my sons when they're 11, but it seems overly aggressive to show their friends, without getting explicit agreement from their parents first.
