In my talking about it on FB and with my girlfriend, yes people believe very much that it is white and gold. I have only seen blue & black. My girlfriend had it change color after about an hour, and started seeing blue & black. The lighting in the house & brightness on her screen were unchanged. I didn't think "the science behind" it was very scientific.
