I second this advice. A slow cooker is really ideal for your use case and can have some dramatically amazing results. Still, you can't slow cook something like a pan-sautéed chicken breast. But many people, particularly single people, simply don't want to expend the effort for the reward. I have no problem with that; been there, done that.
