ITA Software was acquired by Google awhile back. https://matrix.itasoftware.com/ https://matrix.itasoftware.com/

This is an awesome platform, if only you could purchase through this!

That's where the money comes from -- and ITA's mission was to be a backend for other people, who would deal with the expensive customer service side themselves. Presumably as a Google service, customer service isn't a priority anymore.

Their plan is probably to enable it at some point.

Matrix has been running 10 years already.

This site allows users to search for hidden city ticketing. There are some good instruction pages out there. I've never personally used it since I live in Canada and spoke and hub isn't really a thing up here.

All sorts of fun games on ITA. Another good one is to set very long connection times, to get a 23 hour stopover in an interesting city for free.

It's not always a scam to do this; Cathay Pacific seems to give you a discount if you spend a day in Hong Kong.

Right, that is a definite feature of some fares. They allow a free stopover at their hub if you want. Given that, almost all fares allow a 23 hour connection without it having to be programmed into the fare. And I didn't mean it was a scam, more like a cool hack.
