- jobvandervoort 12y agoAt this point, no. GitLab runs very well on Unix machines and is easy to install. It is literally three commands and doesn't require some arcane unix magic to setup and keep running. Starting a VM is easier than ever nowadays and installing GitLab no harder. I'm so comfortable saying this, that if you have any problems getting it setup, email me at job [at] gitlab dot com and I'll help you get rolling.
- sikosmurf 12y agoAs an addendum to that, I was able to get a basic Gitlab up and running with Docker in a very short order on Windows. Might be worth recommending: https://github.com/sameersbn/docker-gitlab https://github.com/sameersbn/docker-gitlab
- sytse 12y agoGreat to hear that! In general we recommend using the Omnibus packages https://about.gitlab.com/downloads/ https://about.gitlab.com/downloads/ but other installation options (including Sameer's image) can be found on https://about.gitlab.com/installation/ https://about.gitlab.com/installation/
- aaren 12y agoThanks for the offer. I'm completely pro unix! The problem is more with presenting this in an enterprise palatable way - VMs are a bit of a grey area.
- sytse 12y agoWe hope you succeed. Feel free to contact us if you need any help presenting this.
