"Too much finance is bad for the economy. Please pay us to hear our reasoning."
- bequanna 12y agofinance != commerce
- navait 12y agoGiven that the working paper is free, I have no idea why you would say that. http://bis.org/publ/work490.pdf http://bis.org/publ/work490.pdf
- ixtli 12y agoDid you find that out by circumventing the pay wall? Perhaps I missed it but it wasn't clear from the stub.
- puranjay 12y ago"Or, don't pay us and get used to getting your news/op-eds in GIF form through Buzzfeed" What would you rather have?
- ixtli 12y agoThis supposes that you must EITHER accept cluttered, lowest common denominator content OR a monetization scheme from 1930 shoehorned into the internet. My point is that _Finance_ (as opposed to the simple desire to pay rent) has resulted in paywalls on websites. So in essence I'm agreeing with the article all while circumventing their attempts at getting me to pay.
- maximuscoolimus 12y agoIt's never quite that extreme. I've yet to see a respected publisher devolve into GIF-delivered content out of financial constraints. That said, there are plenty of free publications with quality writing. Paying for an article hardly correlates with its excellence.
