For what it's worth, I did a Liberal Arts degree, a Business degree and ended up working in IT. Liberal arts came first and Business came second. Liberal arts thoroughly enriched my understanding of the world when coupled with business (particularly the economics aspects of it). I use both when managing clients and projects in my IT job. I encourage all students to become multi-disciplinary even if you think your future focus will be only in one area.
