- pjc50 12y agoNo, it's a free put option to farmers, a form of insurance.
- Retric 12y agoInsurance is still a subsidy. Arguably post hurricane disaster recovery programs are just subsidies to live and build in unsafe areas.
- icebraining 12y agoI said similar because of the government caves filled with cheese, not the economics of the situation :) In any case, I recommend listening to the whole episode to anyone interested in the agricultural policies of the US federal government.
