- mikeash 12y agoInteresting how both replies at the moment espouse the idea that it's OK to rip them off because sometimes they rip us off. This sentiment is disturbingly common!
- dandandan 12y agoIt's not entirely unreasonable that a fare would be priced lower in another currency / country. Try booking a flight from LHR - JFK in GBP and USD in the UK and the US and tell me if the amounts correspond at all.
- mikeash 12y agoThere's a difference between "lower" and "first class ticket for $80." Airlines price discriminate a ton, but they don't sell trans-Atlantic first-class seats for $80.
- logfromblammo 12y agoThe sentiment is enshrined in common law. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clean_hands http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clean_hands http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_pari_delicto http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_pari_delicto http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nemo_auditur_propriam_turpitudinem_allegans http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nemo_auditur_propriam_turpitudi... The latter can, for instance, be invoked when a thief complains that someone stole stolen goods from him. When you are operating in a court of equity rather than a court of law, the judge has greater latitude to consider what would be a just remedy.
