There were serious repercussions to the Chinese hacking US companies, including a US Justice dept indictment, Google pulling out of China, and publicly embarrassing the Chinese Government. >Seems that everybody hacking everybody is just an implicitly accepted practice these days. My view is that: 1. this area is so new, no one knows what the limits should be (disagreements even within governments and agencies), 2. but that there are red lines, 3. that it is likely that the US and other actors have crossed a few of them, 4. and that the world is in the process of reacting and establishing norms of behavior.
