- JDiculous 12y agoWhat? Where in Manhattan can you get a 1BR for under $2k/mo? Are you talking about Harlem? If we're talking about decent neighborhoods in Manhattan, even the shittiest studio on the 5th floor of a walkup will go for at least $2k/mo.
- juliangregorian 12y agoIf you go through some crappy broker and take what they say at face value, then maybe. I found a bunch this summer in gramercy/flatiron, 1 bedrooms all, even on the ground floor.
- JDiculous 12y agoWow that's awesome. What websites or other resources did you use to find those apartments? My lease ends this year and I was considering moving to Gramercy/Flatiron.
- juliangregorian 12y agoThe best way is still to stroll the neighborhood and look for signs. Although you can also look at sites like renthop.com they are mostly broker listings. In either case look up the building owner and negotiate with them directly. You can get a much, much better deal this way. The broker market in NYC is retarded and they are incentivized to get as high of a price as possible in addition to the exorbitant fees.
