When I was an undergraduate living in a dorm, I and several friends all learned Go together. Nobody knew what they were doing, and so no one was particularly nervous. Even keeping score was an exercise in passing around examples from the instruction book. Not the most efficient way to learn, but among the least stressful -- if you're patient enough with one another.
