What was the role you where applying for? If it was a web dev job, where all you will be doing is working in frameworks, then the questions are not a fit for your role. If they where asking about sorting an array, to see if you can do simple logic and did not care about the efficiency, that is one thing, but if they expect a mathematically efficient sort algorithm from a self taught web dev, then they are not being realistic about the standard they are setting for a role that does not require it. It is akin to advertising for a doctor and only needing general practice, then asking questions about heart surgery in the interview. Now if it was not a typical web dev job, then you have to ask yourself what you where doing applying for it in the first place without being prepared.
The texting while you are interviewing is uncalled for no matter how bad the interview went. There is no call for making someone feel insignificant and anyone with any courtesy would know that, that is rude. I agree wit the other poster, it sounds like you dodged a bullet, they sound as if they have a high ego to talent ratio.
