Huh?
Do CPUs come with persistent storage now?
- frik 12y agoXBox360 stored a unique crypto key in ROM inside the CPU. No one cracked it. Though the DVD drive firmware was insecure.
- MichaelGG 12y agoI see news articles that say Christopher Tarnovsky says he has compromised the key storage on the 360, in 2010: http://www.networkworld.com/article/2243700/security/black-hat--researcher-claims-hack-of-processor-used-to-secure-xbox-360--other-products.html http://www.networkworld.com/article/2243700/security/black-h... But I don't see any actual details.
