That's it, I've had it. I'm going to set my router to take all traffic from the MAC address of my TV and route it to 127.0.0.1. I'll disable the redirect when I want to check for firmware updates, but that's it.
- TheCraiggers 12y agoMight want to reconsider that last part. My Vizio had an update a week or so ago that seemingly broke optical audio out. In the future, I'm leaning towards the "if it ain't broke, don't let it patch itself" mantra.
- ghkbrew 12y agoI personally prefer to keep my glorified display panel disconnected from any sort of ip network. It puts the HDMI input on the screen or else it gets the hose again.
