Obviously others were involved, but it's worth noting from the press release on his promotion (https://www.leatherman.com/7-15-13.html https://www.leatherman.com/7-15-13.html):
> Rivera, an engineer, has been with the Tool Group going on 22 years and played a pivotal role in the design and evolution of the category-defining multi-tools. "I have long recognized that Ben's capabilities extend far beyond his status as the world's best multi-tool designer," said company Founder and Chairman Tim Leatherman. "Ben is going to make an outstanding President of Leatherman Tool."
The issue I see is that all the material I can find points to him being President, not CEO. (See above, and Wikipedia)
Edit: Found this http://www.oregonlive.com/playbooks-profits/index.ssf/2014/02/leatherman_tool_group_chief_ex.html http://www.oregonlive.com/playbooks-profits/index.ssf/2014/0... but it's not clear whether or not Rivera is CEO now.
