The current model is unsustainable, more so when you factor in predictions that 50% of jobs could be automated within the next decades. [1] I think a mix of cooperatives and a guaranteed base income, healthcare, and housing would allow those that wish to work to continue to do so while not forcing anybody to work who doesn't wish to offers a much better alternative to keeping inequality in check than the current system.
