Authentication Gotcha with Google Wave

Now that folks are actually collaborating with Google Wave, I have noticed an interesting gotcha (see http://www.dynamicalsoftware.com/cogenuity/integration/google/wave) when using FireFox. The only way for the embedded wave to identify the user is if the user used Google Friend Connect when authenticating with the application. If using the embedded wave's own login GUI or just logging into wave from a separate tab, the embedded wave doesn't recognize and grant access to the user. Has anyone else here run into this and did you find a work-around?
