On the other hand, the rising prices are leaving a lot of people in bad a financial situation already as they can't afford a house/rent. So "letting it burn" would benefit some people. Also, I would imagine people in this second group struggle more than the ones that already have a house or are using it as an investment. I would expect a government to enact policies that benefit them the most.
