It looks to me as if "unseen" refers to the UI being "invisible" or "unobtrusive" to the user. One might be tempted to use words loke "obscured" or "obfuscated"

It looks to me as if "unseen" refers to the UI being "invisible" or "unobtrusive" to the user. One might be tempted to use words loke "obscured" or "obfuscated" if one was less charitable.
