but when you are the only user on a given system, whether or not you are running as administrator doesn't really matter. a virus/worm running as your user still has access to all of the important data on the system because it belongs to you. and by the way, i would wager 95% of mac users would blindly type in their password into an authentication dialog raised by a worm asking for root privileges, simply because the authentication dialog looks the same in every application and most users don't understand what is asking for privileges.
