Maybe you could run a Tor exit node, or setup a public mirror of your favorite code bundles. Or you could donate the processing power to a large distributed-computing project like Stanford's Folding-At-Home (http://folding.stanford.edu/ http://folding.stanford.edu/).
Or you could always just turn your server into a little bitcoin miner. Probably won't make any money from it, but it might be fun to do regardless.
- auganov 12y agoDigital Ocean will likely ban you for bitcoin mining (and other software that constantly stresses any resources.) A quick search reveals tat a Tor exit node is likely to get you banned on there too. Cut-rate cloud providers like Digital Ocean are basically in the business of getting as many low use customers and getting rid of the everyone else [as long as it doesn't totally wreck their reputation/goodwill].
