Glasses wearer here. I've worn glasses for so long, that I've grown used to the way I look with them. If I look at myself without glasses, it makes me uncomfortable. Though I'm sure if I got lasik, and gave it a few weeks to settle in, I'd get used to the no-glasses look too. But I don't have to! For someone like me, lasik offers few benefits (greater range of vision) and a good share of drawbacks (cost, having to get used to your new look). But I imagine it could be great for children who don't want glasses in the first place.
