Money is freedom. Having money in the bank is freedom. Spending lots of money is the opposite of freedom, at least for me. I'm glad I have small expenses and monthly payments, because I value my financial security and freedom a lot more than shiny gadgets. It might be a cliché, but I'd rather not become a slave to the things I own.
