I think it's unlikely that an autonomous car will be $25,000. It is far more likely early autonomous vehicles will be $150,000. However, this just slants the playing field in favor of an Uber-ish business model even more. When the utilization of the car nears 100%, you can justify that capital expense. It doesn't make sense for the average person to own a very expensive autonomous car, because they probably only use it two hours a day at most. When it is running 24/7 except for maintenance, that is a totally different story.
