Regarding this particular issue on AOSP issue tracker, it is a software bug in AOSP that kills voice calls. Filling an issue report would seem prudent. Yes, however, the bug report is very terse and the far majority of the comments do not add any useful data points. Only 'me too!'s and junk like IS GOOGLE TURNING INTO MICROSOFT??!! If you follow the Android bug tracker you see that many issues are flooded with such comments of people who think that the issue tracker is a poll or some social network. I can't blame them for closing such issues.
