I recently read some HN posts about research to stop aging. Then this. Makes me curious -- does anyone do research involving some kind of organism with very short generation times, whereby the experimenters attempt to only allow the oldest individuals to reproduce? The idea would be to apply "artificial selection" that optimizes for longevity. Does anyone know of any research similar to this being done?
