I doubt he can really believe that dropping 10M on a project will somehow prevent Skynet from happening. AI will just get nasty, or it won't. No one knows.

- butwhy 12y agoFine, it will reduce the likelihood of it "getting nasty".
- honeybooboo123 12y agoHow the hell would it reduce it either? If there was only one organization in the world doing AI, then you could maybe bribe them to take a break or something. The only way to guarantee AI safety would be to just stop developing it further, but that's not going to happen, so how the hell is his 10M supposed to keep AI safe?
