  "World demand for paper is expected to grow by 2.1% per year until 2020."[1] Though that's not exactly fair analysis. See for instance this graph published by the European Commission Joint Research Center [2][3]. Developed countries will use paper 0.5% more per year (less than population growth of 0.8%) but emerging countries (like China at 0.5% population growth) use it at 4% more per year.
