Reproductive apathy is not the same as sexual.
- notacoward 12y agoSame point I was about to make. From what I can see of Japanese media and culture, there's no shortage of sexual desire or ways to act upon it. It's just acted upon in ways that don't lead to reproduction. In 2015 you'd think we might have moved beyond casually equating the two, but apparently not.
- phkahler 12y ago>> Reproductive apathy is not the same as sexual. No, but this is: "More than a third of childbearing-age Japanese have never had sex: 39 percent of women and 36 percent of men, ages 18 to 34"
- notacoward 12y ago"Have never had sex" (usually construed as meaning "...with another person") and "lacking sexual desire" are still not the same thing. I find it extremely hard to believe that you're unaware of the possibility of solo sex (which highlights the distinction). Wouldn't be surprised if you're an expert, in fact.
