This problem has been known for quite a while. For the past three years or so I see articles popping up discussing this trend with some stats, graphs, and reasoning, but most of them fail to mention whether the Japanese government a) acknowledges the problem and b) is taking steps to fix it (I'm thinking measures such as a subsidy-per-child). Anyone have more info on this?
