I found this extremely concerning too. It should be possible to modify these options without resorting to hacks (that may break when OpenSSH is upgraded) _if_ these modifications are indeed necessary. From some of the comments here it's clear that this article is a mixture of good, bad, and silly advice - do those other authentication methods actually need disabling?
