I do agree with the article regarding not enough competition between tech companies. Due to the enormous value a 10x programmer can bring to a company, there should be at least a few [pick your favorite job board] postings for $1 million / yr salary. Right now the state of hiring in Silicon Valley (being an outsider) seems to be a high level of collusion or some "unspoken promise" between employers in the area that they should not "rock the boat".
