IMHO, you cannot charge 5$ for, what I would call, "a dedicated HN browser". Do people charge 5$ for reddit clients? BTW, in your webpage, slides are broken.

- Hates_ 12y agoAlienBlue was a paid purchase until it was acquired by Reddit. I believe they'll soon start charging for the Pro version at some point in the near future again.
- harisamin 12y agoSo I priced it according to other clients that I’ve seen in the MAS which were a buck or two cheaper with no actual client capabilities (login/voting/posting etc). Other than the readable article here everything is native. Really was scratching my own itch. Also thanks for reporting the slideshow on the site. That’s fixed now :)
- chaghalibaghali 12y agoFor an app that a lot of people here would use every day, $5 really isn't that much if it offers them usability or aesthetic benefits versus the website.
- fishnchips 12y agoBeauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. IMHO the app's layout needs more work before I'd consider buying it for aesthetic benefits.
- debaserab2 12y agoThere's s lot of aesthetic issues going on with this app though. Awkward line height, lack of margins, etc. it does not look more readable than the normal HN to me.
- Retra 12y agoIMHO, a programmer's time is valuable, and $5 is not enough of a fee to object to.
