I can't see how people tolerate Twitter's ad policy, I don't even use an ad blocker (I white list JS) but I find Twitter ads too annoying to use the service.

- roma1n 12y agoSomeone suggested to report every 'promoted tweet' (ad) as unwanted/spam. That's what I do currently.

- icebraining 12y agoThat sounds like a good way to have your reports ignored by the system.
- zecho 12y agoDoing so also blocks the brands from showing up as ads, in addition to blocking them from organically appearing in your timeline. It's a strategy that works well, imo.
- prawn 12y agoI do this for ads that are irrelevant to my interests (and most ads they show me are). Saves my time in the future as a lot of Twitter ads are repeats, and sends them a message that their guesses at what's relevant to me are off.

- Karunamon 12y agoWhat alternative service? Twitter is a social network, it only has value because of the sheer number of people that use it.
- untog 12y agoI barely notice them. Let's face it, there are considerably worse ad implementations out there - auto play video, taking over the screen...
