One of the neat things my company does is give out a monthly award for person who (net) deleted the most code that month. It's in the form of a little rubber duck called the deletion-ducky. Competition can get pretty fierce for it. The nice thing about it being monthly, instead of one off, is that it keeps simplicity in the front of everyone's mind
