Ask HN: How does testflight fit into testing new releases?

We're going to release the first version of our app and wanted to get some feedback as to how long you test internally, how long you allow a larger testflight group to test, and then how long until you push a new version to the app store. How do you test new versions of your app and how do you use testflight in the process?
