After Lasik my preferred font size more than doubled and my tolerance for low contrast text went way down.

  That's my experience too, in addition to noticing "floaters" a lot (distractingly) more and also having moisture problems with my eyes. So clearly laser eye surgery is not helpful for typical tech workers. The rest of the article is great though. (=
