Unless you signed a not disclosure document during the hiring process, I would have revealed the company name.
It's time to point out this faulty processes, especially on company that have public stakeholders.
Employees are often the most important assets, therefore the way you hire is crucial. If you get it wrong from begin with you can't expect much.
