your customers need to know who you are, where you reside and how they can reach you even when (or especially when!) your website is down. Except the overwhelming majority of customers has no idea what 'whois' even is and couldn't care less what info yours may or may not contain... The only people who do care are spammers and scammers. Whois-databases are a goldmine for them, and that's why whois-anonymization is a Very Good Idea™.
