Good point. I Don't suggest the assertion would refute the inferences from the canary death, but I'd like to see some non-repudiable assertion, as it would lead them to make some position. All this non-sense about their "offices being closed" is just silly. My conclusion is that they've lost the trust of the public, and their reputation and credibility is tarnished, perhaps irreperably.
