Protection shitection. It was a single user system. Its not that important compared to full preemptive multitasking in 1985 :o. Afaik it was the second home computer to get it, first being castrated low cost piece of shit Sinclair QL (Linus owned one), and the first one to use it by default. Windows got native preemprive multitasking 10 years later.
