- jrlocke 12y agoSo is a beaver dam natural or artificial?
- devindotcom 12y agoIt's artificial, because it was crafted deliberately and purposefully to fulfill a need or want. Beavers weren't.
- ceejayoz 12y agoIn that case, many human children are artificial.
- juliangregorian 12y agoNo, human children resulted from organic processes beyond the control of the individuals who set the cogs in motion, so to speak.
- ceejayoz 12y agoAs someone who needed donor sperm and a doctor to conceive, my kids are at least as artificial as a beaver dam.
- gear54rus 12y agoMost importantly, beaver dam is not an intelligence (and I doubt that it will wipe out its own creators) :) I was referring to one and I think the guy above me also did.
- ThomPete 12y agoIsn't the real problem that those borders are kind of blurry and depending on the perspective? I.e. the individual does not create in isolation. It took several generations of people to create to a point where we can even make computers. So at least to me the whole divide between artificial and natural isn't really there.
