Why does this site require https?
- wmf 17y agoBecause it's run by a cypherpunk. And you can use regular HTTP if your browser complains.
- electromagnetic 17y agoIt throws an SSL error for me in Chrome, so isn't going to be opened on my computer. There's no need for it to be in https, so the site owner just lost a reader. Tip to the author: Don't alienate your readers before they can even read your work.
- pelle 17y agoIan has done this specifically to highlight the problem in the current SSL cert model. Here is his post on why he does that: http://financialcryptography.com/mt/archives/001067.html http://financialcryptography.com/mt/archives/001067.html His site actually has a valid CACert certificate who do certification via web of trust. The only problem is that mainstream browsers have refused to support CACert. http://www.cacert.org/ http://www.cacert.org/
