Sorry, but I can't see the value of posting this to hacker news. As evidenced by many people in this thread assuming it's from one of the core Go development team, it's not.

It's not supposed to be justifying or rationalizing anything, nor does it speak for the core language contributors! It's one person's summary of a very long and convoluted conversation. That's all.
