Who owns the trademark?

  I don't think anyone has trademarked the name. I don't have it registered and it doesn't show up if I search for it either.

  From the description so far, the other team – out trading in the market under the name – owns a common-law trademark, at least in the US, even if they haven't begun (or indeed never do) any formal registration.
