It's interesting that this is treated differently the the celebrity photo leak earlier this year. In both cases personal, private information has been leaked (photos, emails) but for some reason it's ok to post the emails on legitimate news websites.
- walterbell 12y agoIf this were a movie, news outlets posting the leaked information would constitute the second round in economic infowar attacks.
- totony 12y agoI would argue that this is a very bad analogy. One is only a photo of yourself (okay, in a setting you might not like, but still just a picture), while the other is something someone can use to fuck you up: put you in financial trouble, break your credit, your name (see other posts in this thread). This is in no way like leaked photos. I agree both might be troublesome, but the level of this leak is incredibly worse.
