I've found quite a variation in engagement. I have one account with ~4,000 followers that I'm always tweeting and talking to people from, and another account with ~15,000 followers that I rarely use. I've noticed that if I tweet something identical from each, I'll get much more engagement from the 4,000-follower account, even though it has only a quarter of the initial audience.
Overall, however, I think I have seen a drop in engagement since I first started regularly tweeting back in 2009.
- xyby 12y agoWhat does that "talking to people from" mean? How are the engagement numbers? How many followers follow a link when you post to these accounts? When I send out a mailing, about 3% of the receivers click on a link in it. If that would apply to twitter, an account with 1000 followers posting about my site would bring in 30 visitors. But as I said, on average it brings not even one.
